Most students progress by one level each term. Teachers regularly talk to each student about their progress and they offer lots of advice on how to improve. Progression through the different levels depends on:
We give all our students a placement test and speaking test with a member of the academic team on their first day at Celtic. This helps us make sure that all our students are in the most suitable class for their level of English at the start of their English language journey.Your First Week
An Individual Learning Plan is set for each student on their first day to determine their aims and path of study.Celtic Online
All our students are expected to participate fully in classes, complete all homework and maintain a high level of attendance (minimum 80%), in order to get the most from the course. We also provide our students with weekly tests, regular reports and assessed portfolio work.Your Classes
All students have to take mid and end-of-term tests. The results of these tests help us to decide if you should progress to the next level. Students should achieve a minimum of 70% in tests and have a minimum of 80% attendance throughout the course to progress to the next level.
After each mid and end-of-term test, each student will receive an individual tutorial. In your tutorial, your teacher will provide you with personal guidance on how you can improve your English.
At the end of the course, students receive a certificate of attendance (minimum of 80% attendance) as evidence of their time at Celtic English Academy.
