Registering with the police in Cardiff

While you are studying English with us at Celtic English Academy, you might have to register with the police if you are from a non-EU country. The stamp in your passport will state if you are required to do this.

If you need to register, you can do this at Rumney Police Station in Cardiff.

There are several buses that go to Rumney – numbers 30, 49 and 50.

  • Please ask to get off at the Rumney Hill Gardens
  • Walk up the hill for about 50 metres
  • The police station is on the left.
  • Please use the intercom to gain access.

Items need for police registration in Cardiff

You will need to take proof that you are a student. This can be your Student ID card, which you will receive on your first day. Alternatively, you can take your offer letter from Celtic English Academy or a Police Registration Letter which you can get from reception at Celtic.

You will also need to take:

  • Your passport
  • Cash (£34 registration fee must be paid in cash and make sure you have the right money with you)
  • Passport photos: two passport size photos
