We have ears to hear sounds, eyes to see, hands to touch, tongues to taste and noses to smell. But, can you name all five basic senses in English? What sense do you use the most?

Today it’s Sunday Study Tip and we are focusing on senses.

There are five basic senses. There are: sight ?, hearing ?, taste ? touch βœ‹? and smell ?. We use them daily and for each one we use a basic verb. Look at the examples below.

*notice the use of β€œlike” is to compare one thing to another

We can also use the verb as nouns.

I didn’t like the look of that fish.

Do you really like the taste of olives?

We could hear the sound of church bells.

She hates the smell of petrol.

Did you know them all? Which do you think is our most important sense? Which one is your favorite? Give some examples in the comments below why it is so good.
