Welcome to the Academy during Covid-19

28th August 2020

Welcome to the Academy!

We all know this year has been unexpected and we have all had to change our plans, adapt and innovate, whilst supporting our families, friends and local communities. At Celtic we quickly adapted to the pandemic transitioning all our programmes online and not a single lesson was missed! Hats off to our teachers who have gone above and beyond to make sure that students have the same quality teaching and experience online as the students that are with us in the classroom.

We were pleased to announce that after a lot of preparation and hard work, we officially re-opened our doors to students from September!

What to expect at the Academy if I study in Cardiff?

When you visit, you will notice some changes at the Academy to keep everyone safe:

  • Hand sanitiser stations are available in all classrooms and as you enter the buildings
  • Plastic screens at reception and at the desks of key support staff
  • Floor markings to guide you around the academy whilst maintaining distance from other students and staff. Look out for the priority directions, they are like traffic signs!
  • Desks and chairs in classrooms have been spaced out for social distancing
  • Classes are on average 4-6 students in person, instead of the maximum of 10 usually

What should I remember to do if I will be studying at Celtic ?

We understand that you will probably have a lot of questions before and during your stay at Celtic, we are here to help you! You can contact us on the website chat or via WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, Email.

Here are a few things to remember before you start your course!

  • Please be sure to keep up to date with the news about Covid-19. It is important to know about any travel restrictions from your country to the UK like if you need to self-isolate for 2 weeks on arrival. Take a look at the Welsh Government’s Written Statement on International Travel Regulations.
  • Please bring your BRP card (if you have one), passport or European ID card on your first day – we will need to make an original copy for your student profile.
  • Please wear a face covering at all times in the Academy and in class
  • Teachers wear face visors
  • Please bring your laptop or tablet with you to all your classes so you can access your E-book

We’re Good To Go!

We have achieved the ‘We’re Good To Go’ tick, meaning that we have followed government and industry COVID-19 guidelines to maintain cleanliness and social distancing measures, as well as completing a COVID-19 risk assessment. Find out more about what this means in our We’re Good To Go blog!
