Week Two at the Celtic Junior Summer Programme in Cardiff

This week the students have taken part in many exciting activities with the activity and welfare leaders, as well as having lots of fun in their lessons with their teachers, Alex and Sharon.

On Sunday, all of the juniors went to the Cardiff Bay Beach festival, where they bought fun fair treats like chips and candy floss, and went on some of the amusements.

On Monday, the students were taken on a guided tour of the Millennium Stadium, and learnt all about the history of the Welsh national sport.

Wednesday was a very exciting day for all of the students, as they headed down to the Welsh Water Rafting Centre, and had a go for themselves! They were all kitted up from head to toe, with wetsuits and helmets. This was definitely a group favorite, as all of the students came out laughing and smiling (and soaking wet!)

On Thursday, some of the leaders and all of the students took a trip into Cardiff city centre to do some shopping. The students treated themselves, and some bought souvenirs for their family members and friends.

Here are our students’ highlights of the week:

“On Tuesday we went water rafting, it was cool. We made two groups and learnt how to row and oar. We fell in the water but we had a great experience.”

“This week we went rafting, I think it was awesome and great fun. Yesterday we went shopping, and I bought nice trousers. I enjoyed going a shopping, and I found a nice jacket. “

“Two days ago we went white water rafting, it was very nice. We really enjoyed this activity. We wore wetsuits, life jackets and helmets.”

Giovanni & Paolo

“Yesterday we went shopping with our friends, Salem, Khalid and Khaled. We didn’t buy anything, but we went for a Nandos. It was fun. This week, we also went horse riding. We learnt a lot and now we can control the horse easily.”

Sultan & Seyed

“We have made lots of new friends at the school. We go on excursions like water rafting, shopping and trips to the museum. We enjoy every day here.”
