It’s been a lovely start to summer in Wales. At the beginning of July, we launched our new Junior Summer Programme Centre in North Wales and welcomed our young learners to the boarding school campus located by the seaside in Colwyn Bay.
Over the 5-week duration of our Junior Summer Programme, our students not only have a chance to learn English but also take part in some exhilarating social activities such as:

You can find out how our students are doing on our Junior Programme on our Facebook page and Instagram account.
We are absolutely delighted to see our students enjoying the programme and would like to take this opportunity to share one of the junior student thoughts on the programme and the city.
Here is what Alice, the junior student from Italy had to say about her experience:
“My name is Alice and I come from Italy but I am currently spending a month in Colwyn Bay (North Wales) with Celtic English Academy. I want to show you what my journey has been so far, but in order to do that properly, I have to tell you what my expectations were before leaving for Wales.
My desire was to get out of my comfort zone as much as possible, because I am very shy person and I am not very confident. But I was not sure that all of this was going to happen because fear (especially the one to be judged) often overcomes everything else.
Everything changed when I got to meet this amazing staff: everyone is very supportive and caring and they don’t force you into doing things you don’t feel like doing, but they motivate you to do your best.
Yesterday [note: the first week of the programme] for example, I did something I never thought I’d do, not even in a million years: I drove a catamaran. I was scared at first, but after a few minutes when I was rowing in the middle of the sea, I realised it was one of the best days of my life.
I don’t want to say too much, because most things are better experienced, but what I can say is that this week has been amazing, I have had some lifetime experiences and I have learned to embrace my limits but at the same time to overcome most of them, and that’s also thanks to the wonderful people I can rely on.
Every day I spend here is part of what will probably be the best summer of my life.
If you are reading this, just know that packing that suitcase you have in the corner of your room its always going to be the best decision of your life, no matter where it will take you.
I am not good at goodbyes so I will just leave you with a quote I love: “Travelling it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller”.
