Shoko Doherty had already served since 2017 as a member of the Board of Trustees of English UK – the UK’s national association for English Language Teaching (ELT) centres. She has recently been re-elected for a second term, in addition to being elected as new vice-chair. Alongside Mark Rendell, the appointed chair of English UK and the rest of the Board of Trustees, she will focus on helping the UK ELT member centres to build back better following the global pandemic.
We’d like to acknowledge Shoko’s tireless dedication to Celtic English Academy and UK ELT overall, especially the wellbeing of students and staff, and the sustainability of the organisation as a whole.
“I care about a sustainable future for our sector and society. I want to be an advocate for sustainability not only in terms of the environment, but also to play a part in making a better, more balanced and fairer world for us to live, study or work in…”
