Last week, Kou was working at Celtic, helping us with different tasks. We hope hey enjoyed his work experience week in the office! He wrote about his experience at Celtic:
Spending time in Celtic School as my first work experience was wonderful. I moved to Cardiff last September from Japan and now I go to a school in Cardiff. For my future career, I am thinking of becoming a translator or a teacher, so this was the best work experience for me.
Celtic School allowed me to complete a wide range of tasks including desk and office work, for example organising files. This taught me what responsibility is and also the importance of understanding one’s position at work. During the work experience week, I was able to develop; my communication skills, organisation skills and English skills.
On Thursday, I joined one of the English lessons and observed how a professional teacher is supposed to be. In Celtic School, teachers do not only teach English, but they also encourage students to speak by making a suitable environment for them to feel relaxed and comfortable in. As an international student myself, I believe this is the most important thing. Many tasks I have participated in during this work experience week will be of benefit to me in the future and for my career. I appreciate Celtic School for giving me such a great opportunity.
