Cardiff has something for everyone’s palate. From tapas, Lebanese, Thai and Italian to Japanese, vegan, barbecue and French. There is something for everyone in the capital of Wales. Together with Celtic English students we have pulled together some of the best places to eat and drink in Cardiff. Check it out.
1 Park Grove, Cardiff CF10 3BJ
Just across the road from the Academy, The Pen & Wig is a popular choice for many of our students. This is a very lively pub with a large beer garden that offers a wide range of food and drinks to suit all tastes.
81-83 St Mary St, Cardiff CF10 1FA
Looking for unusual scenery? Try one of the biggest pubs in Cardiff; The Prince of Wales. Located in an old theatre, this friendly pub offers reasonably priced food and drinks. It is worth a visit even just to see the building.
15-23 Westgate St, Cardiff CF10 1DD
The success of the first two Bar 44s, led to the opening of Bar 44 in Cardiff, just opposite the Principality stadium. Bar 44 offers a fantastic choice of food, noted for their unique twist on modern, Spanish tapas with an artisanal drinks menu to match.
4 Church St, Cardiff CF10 1BG
This family run Italian restaurantis a great choice for pizza and pasta lovers. It offers home-made dishes from its open kitchen. The restaurant is tiny so make sure you book a table to avoid disappointment.

If you want to try Middle Eastern dishes, Shaam Nights is the right place to explore this amazing cuisine. Shaam Nights provides an elegant dining experience with a rare opportunity to taste its authentic Syrian Cuisine which is all Halal. And, it is not far from the city centre.

It’s Cardiff’s first 100% vegan restaurant. It’s a place where not only vegans, but all food lovers, can come and experience delicious vegan food in a relaxed and friendly environment.

9 The Friary, Cardiff CF10 3FA
The Live Lounge is Cardiff’s most vibrant live music venue. Whatever the time you will find live music playing. The bar is open 7 days a week with live musicians performing 12pm-12am and a DJ carries it all till the end. Along with the fantastic music, you can grab some food and drinks.
