Christmas is just around the corner!

So the countdown has begun and it’s only a few shopping weekends till Christmas Day. But aside from the gifts themselves, Christmas is a special time to meet up with friends and family and enjoy those traditions which are saved for this time of the year.

So I asked some of the staff at Celtic English Academy, what does Christmas mean to you?

One of our Directors stated that he loves the bright lights that illuminate the streets, parks and cafes in Cardiff. “November can be such a dark month, so when the lights are switched on it creates such a lovely atmosphere”.

Our teachers loved the feeling of wearing warm woolly jumpers, eating comfort food, kissing under the mistletoe, and watching cheesy Christmas movies, which can be an antidote to the stresses of modern life.

Maria from our Marketing team beamed about the fact that she returns home to Spain for Christmas so it’s a fantastic chance to spend time with those loved ones who she hasn’t seen for several months.

Ben from our Operations team feels strongly that the true meaning of Christmas should not be forgotten; we should put aside our differences to help one another. So this year, Ben will be spending his Christmas Day helping a charity which provides food for those less fortunate.
