This week marks the first week of Celtic English Academy’s Junior Summer Programme.
The junior students have been to Cardiff Castle, where they climbed to the top of the Norman Keep, and learnt about the history of Wales and the Welsh culture. We als
o got to see a Falcon display at the castle, which the boys enjoyed very much.
On Tuesday the students took part in a scavenger hunt around Cardiff Victorian Market. They enjoyed Welsh cakes as a prize for their enthusiastic participation. Here is a picture of some of the students with their tasty prize!
Yesterday, we took the juniors to the National Musuem of Wales in Cardiff. Here is what the students have enjoyed about the week so far:
Salem, Sayed, Gabriel & Giovanni
“Yesterday we visited the Welsh National History Museum, we saw a lot of interesting things, especially the dinosaur families. We saw pictures of famous people, a big diamond, lots of animals and statues. We played old instruments. Then we went to play in the park in the sun.”
Khaled, Khalid & Paolo
“Yesterday we went to the museum, we saw animals, rocks, sculptures and pictures. After finishing at the museum, we went shopping. We bought chocolates and ice cream. After this, we went to Pizza Hut to eat with Hazel, we then came back to the school.” Paolo – “My favorite activity was paddle boarding in the Water Centre in Cardiff with Gabriel, it was fun.”
Hamad & Sultan
“We went horseriding and learnt a bunch of new things, like ‘trots’. The thing we liked most about this school is that they sometimes take us to have lunch or dinner outside. Yesterday we went to the Museum, we saw a lots of animals like foxes, whales, sharks and dinosaurs. We also learnt about rocks and fossils. The animals and structures were very old.
Paulina & Chinatsu
“On Tuesday, we went to the market and played a scavenger hunt. We had to search for the answers, the winners prize was Welsh Cakes. On Wednesday we went to the national museum. We saw dinosaurs, we saw sculptures of their bones.”
Daniel & Vera
“On Wednesday we went to the National Museum in Wales. We went into a room with dinosaurs, we saw a T-Rex. Then we went shopping. I bought some ice cream and after that we went to a pizza restaurant. We loved the ice-cream.”
