Celtic English Academy students day trip to sunny Gower!

20th July 2015

Saturday was a day to remember for some of the lucky students here at Celtic English academy as we went on a day trip of the beautiful Gower Penisnular.

With a lucky window of gorgeous weather, cameras ready and a luxury coach booked, we set off from cardiff bright and early for a full day of true Welsh exploration. In less than 1.5 hours from Cardiff we were at Rhosilli, the furthest tip of thre rugged peninsular, looking out over the Ocean and golden sand beaches.

The Gower Peninsula is both beautiful, diverse and unspoilt, there are many historic features located over an area that measures just sixteen miles by seven miles wide. Notably, Gower was one of the first places designated ‘An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ under the Act of 1949

After a good walk out to the breathtaking tidal causway at the foot of the famous Worms Head we hopped back onto the coach and headed through other beautiful features such as Three Cliffs and Parkmill onto the quaint fishing village of Mumbles for lunch, some sand between our toes and to sample the legendary Joes Ice Cream.

All in all it was an incredible day out and everyone felt sun kissed and content as we headed back to Cardiff. Do not worry if you missed this great trip as Celtic Academy run trips to Gower frequently with another one coming up in August. Sign up early for this amazing experience 🙂
