No class today? It is a rainy summer that is why we need to seize the opportunity of a sunny day. Over 120 students from Celtic School turned up for the BBQ at Cosmeston Lake. There was fantastic weather and everyone seemed to enjoy the food!! Also happy to have no afternoon class ;).
Gradually the students and staff gathered on the lawn next to the grill with rumbling stomachs. Shoko, James P. and Nabil were coocking on the grills to feed everyone. The school provided us with an enormous variety of food. Salads, pasta, chicken, sausages, burgers, sweetcorn, lamb, couscous, fish, soft drinks, water and not to forget a few cans of beer. In the end our chefs did their job very well as you could see there was no food left.
After lunch the majority were sitting on the lawn talking to each other enjoying the sun. But some others decided: “Don’t fear the heat and play football”.
Another highlight was Heidi (the dog of James and Shoko) who attracted the attention of some students. Our “black whirlwind” is tireless, likeable and all the time looking forward to finding playfellows.
You can imagine to getting home with over 120 students by bus it is impossible. Even though not everybody could get on one bus it still felt packed like sardines. Nevertheless everybody arrived safely at Central Station.
We are not sure if everyone was in the wood next to Costmeston Lake or has visited the Cosmeston Medieval Village. But if you are going to stay longer in Cardiff you can still wait for a sunny day to go again to this beautiful lake.
