You have found your dream English language course, been accepted and now you are getting ready for your study abroad adventure. Great! Now it’s time to choose where you will stay.
We know that finding a place to live can be difficult, that is why we have dedicated members of staff in our Operations and Student Services team to help you choose the best option for you.
Our accommodation options will suit your lifestyle, budget and needs.
You can choose:
?to stay in city centre residence accommodation with other students,
?to live with a local English speaking homestay provider,
? to stay in a local guest house, hostel or even a nice hotel!
We can help you with local recommendations for in and around Cardiff. We can also direct you towards private rental accommodation if you prefer to rent an apartment or a room in a shared house, for example. Cardiff has many options and we hope that we’ll be able to help you find what’s right for you!
Residence accommodation
If you would like to have your own space and to be more independent, our accommodation at Lumis Student Living could be a great option for you. This modern residence is a relaxed place to return to after your day at Celtic and a great place to study. It is located in the heart of Cardiff city centre, within walking distance of our academy.
Lumis Student Living usually has a lively atmosphere and staying here means meeting lots of other students from all over the world. You will have your own en-suite bedroom as well as access to the communal kitchen and lounge area where you can cook and spend time with the other students staying there.
This accommodation is provided by Celtic English Academy, but managed by Lumis Student Living. Please visit Lumis Student Living website for more information.
Homestay
If discovering true British culture and way of life is important to you, there’s no better way than to stay with a local British host. Homestay can give you a welcoming and personal experience during your study stay.
Living in homestay accommodation offers a unique intercultural experience and is one of the best ways to practise English outside the classroom. It also helps you to experience our culture and the British way of life, first-hand. Also you can always ask your host for the latest local knowledge like recommended restaurants to eat at, or museums and sights to see!
All of our homestay accommodation providers are carefully selected by our team. We have a dedicated Accommodation Officer, Lisa, who matches hosts with students and is there to support both students and hosts during the homestay experience. They are all welcoming and caring, regardless of age or circumstances. We listen carefully to our students’ feedback and our personal attention helps guarantee both students and homestay providers are happy.
You can choose from two types of homestay accommodation; standard and superior, either half-board or full-board. You will be able to use the lounge to relax, speak with the hosts in English and watch TV.
We also have shared homestay rooms available for family members, close friends or siblings (same gender), which can make staying in homestay enjoyable if you are there with another friend or relative. Please enquire if you have any special requirements like wish to stay with your family or bring your children to Cardiff and stay together in the same place.
Most of our students choose the homestay or residential accommodation that we offer. They benefit from 24/7 service and support through staying with our accommodation and we can always be on hand to help if there is any problem, big or small. However, we can also help you to find private accommodation, such as a flat or house, if required.
