‘Look Mum, I’m on TV!’ and 3 more Celtic highlights from 2021

16th December 2021

2021-highlights-end-of-year

December is a great opportunity to take a look back over the year and celebrate the highlights of 2021. Even in a year that started full of uncertainties and challenges for students and schools, there are always opportunities to grow and move forward.

These are our highlights from 2021!

1. We re-opened fully for in-person classes.

Since April 2021, the local restrictions regarding Covid-19 allowed us to open fully for all classes, including morning and midday-in person classes. We continue to offer online and hybrid classes, where necessary, but seeing students coming back to the classrooms to learn in immersion was an iconic moment that we will treasure.

2. We achieved the Fairplay Employer GOLD level standard award and received FairPlay Employer of the Year at the national Chwarae Teg awards.

This award values companies that work to reduce unconscious bias and gender pay gap, improve recruitment and family-friendly policies, and develop a more inclusive working environment, among other topics.

We were the first private sector company and first SME organisation (small to medium sized enterprise) in Wales, UK, to achieve the Gold level standard! We then went on to be awarded Fairplay Employer of the Year at the national Chwarae Teg awards.

3. Celtic’s CEO Shoko Doherty, was featured in the latest advert campaign from Business Wales.

Business Wales, the Welsh Government’s business support service for businesses, chose us (among four other companies) to talk about the importance of exporting services to the world and working internationally.

We were honoured to be selected, but most importantly, to be able to share our global experience and inspire other companies to take the leap to trade overseas. We have taught students from over 60 different countries and continue to grow and maintain our international relationships.

4. We kept on helping students to study with confidence and achieve their potential as English-speakers.

This is the most important highlight of this year. Even as English schools and study abroad companies have been working around the clock to recover during the hit of the Covid-19 pandemic, we managed to keep ourselves focused on the future of our students so that they can study with confidence with Celtic.

We know that when the conditions are uncertain and difficult, the easiest thing to do is to wait for the storm to pass. But our students didn’t want to stop their studies. After all, the future doesn’t wait to begin.

So we focused on helping them to learn and improve English language skills, while gaining confidence to speak and work in English. We are proud of every student that chose to continue growing despite the always-changing conditions of 2021.

That’s why we also continue to offer our flexible booking conditions through the Study with Confidence policy until 31st December 2022.

Thank you, to every partner and student that kept on trusting Celtic English Academy this year. We think that the best relationships are the ones that find a place to grow through the rough times, and we are sure the future will show us how stronger we are together.

Happy Holidays,
Team Celtic
