What is CELTA?
It is an intensive, initial TEFL qualification designed for people with little or no previous English language teaching experience or training. It is certified by Cambridge Assessment English and is highly regarded internationally. The course is very practical and you will teach real language learners from the first week. CELTA is the most often requested qualification by employers in this field.
The 4-week full-time course involves:

120+ hours of study including 6 hours of observed and assessed teaching practice
Authentic teaching experiences with students at two distinct levels.
Focus on teaching methodology, lesson planning, language analysis and language skills, and how to deliver an effective lesson.
Every course is moderated by an external assessor, appointed by Cambridge English, so you will receive a certificate from Cambridge English, part of the University of Cambridge.

Minimum entry requirements:
Proficient English language user (CEFR level high C1 or above)
Educated to the standard required for entry into higher education
Completed at least 2 years of Bachelor’s Degree course

After receiving your completed form, a teacher training team member will contact you to arrange an interview. This will be held online using Zoom.
The deadline for applications is usually 2 weeks before the start of a course. However, if this deadline has passed, please contact the centre directly to see if places are still available.
CELTA requires an excellent level of English language and literacy to be successful on the course and this will be tested at application and interview stage.
