Celtic’s Junior Staff team is made up of the following:

  • Junior Activity Leaders

Of course, we also select our Junior Programme staff based on their personalities and aptitude for motivating groups of young people and encouraging them to learn and have fun!

Teachers

Our Junior Summer Programme teachers are all CELTA qualified and selected for their EFL experience and ability to teach and motivate young learners. We have a specific curriculum for our Junior Summer Programme.

The following Celtic staff have key responsibilities for the Junior Summer Programme:

Junior Activity Leaders

Our sub-team of Junior Activity Leaders take care of everything that happens outside of the classroom. They co-ordinate, supervise and lead all activities and evening sessions, as well as excursions, and are hands on from breakfast time to lights out at bedtime.

Our Activity Leaders are also the main point of contact for all our students on a pastoral level. The leaders stay in a separate room in the residence where our students are accommodated so they will be there 24 / 7 should your child need anything, at any time of day. Our residence also has a 24-hour manned reception so centre staff act as a double reassurance of the welfare and safety of your children.

Urdd Residential Centre Members

The Urdd Residence is a purpose-built, Welsh Language residential facility for primary and secondary students across Wales. The Urdd Centre staff are a friendly team that are used to providing residential services for young learners all year round. They won’t fail to welcome you with their cheery Welsh accents and excellent hospitality!

Although the Urdd Centre staff are not direct Celtic English Academy employees, they are our partners and, like us, care about our students’ welfare and residential experience. Students can always practise their English with them during meal times or free time in the common room. Maybe they will teach your students some basic Welsh too!

We ask our students to respect the Urdd Centre staff in the same way that they would respect the Celtic team. The residence provides us with brilliant cooks, cleaners and security staff and we are very grateful for all that they do to make our students’ experience the very best possible.

Celtic English Academy Staff

Celtic office staff are based on the fourth floor of our main academy building in Cardiff city centre. However there is a sub-team that is responsible for the planning, preparation and delivery of the Junior Summer Programmes. This team will make regular visits to the residential centre in Cardiff Bay to ensure the fluid running of the Junior Programme from our students’ arrival to departure.

Celtic English Academy’s Junior Programme staff will always be on hand for students, parents, agents or group leaders should there be any concerns or need for further information. We take care of all communication and can be contacted by phone or email prior to the programme starting, as well as during the programme, should you need to contact us.
