Big shopping centres
Cardiff is one of the Europe’s top shopping destinations. We are located right in the heart of the city, only minutes away from the main shopping area.
As well as having one of Europe’s biggest shopping centres, there are also lots of charming Victorian arcades and exclusive city boutiques. These arcades house independent shops like Spillers Records, the oldest record store in the world - opened in 1894!

Capitol Centre and St. David’s “Dewi Sant”
The Capitol Centre is a premier shopping centre, with a focus on the higher end of women's fashion while St. David’s Dewi Sant is Wales’ newest and biggest fashion destination. Both house a wide variety of high street names as well as specialist and designer stores.
The Hayes is one of Cardiff’s most scenic shopping streets, home to many designer stores and boutiques as well as some of Cardiff’s most attractive buildings, such as St John’s Church which was built in the fifteenth-century. Along the Hayes you can also find Cardiff Central Library and Cardiff Tourist Information Centre – housed in Cardiff’s Old Library.
Cardiff has six Victorian arcades, many of which still have their original features. These unique shopping destinations house lots of independent vintage shops and boutiques, as well as some of Cardiff’s more interesting cafes and restaurants.
