Travel and Tourism Description

English for Travel and Tourism is ideal for students who are looking to work, or who are already working in tourism-related sectors. 

The course follows an integrated skills programme with an emphasis on reading, listening and speaking. You will have the opportunity to focus on acquiring vocabulary specifically relevant to the world of tourism.

Lessons topics can include, but are not limited to: describing dishes and food, helping visitors to make bookings, dealing with complaints, giving a guided tour and making travel agreements. There will be a focus on interactive tasks and using authentic materials, such as texts form guide books. 

Who is English for Travel and Tourism for?

  • Students who already work in the tourism sector

  • Students who would like to work in the tourism or hospitality sector

  • Students taking Tourism Management, Hospitality or similar courses or training programmes

  • Students who want to feel confident whist travelling, living, volunteering or working abroad

Learning Outcomes

How we measure your progress:

Progress will be measured by weekly tests, a mid-term test and end-of-term test, within each level. You are expected to participate fully in classes, complete all homework set and maintain a high level of attendance (min 80%), in order to get the most from the course.
