Our modern residence is a relaxed place to return to after your day at Celtic and a great place to study. Our residence accommodation is located in the heart of Cardiff city centre, within walking distance of our academy.


You can choose from five types of accommodation:

Lumis Ladies-Only Residence

Lumis Student Living usually has a lively atmosphere and staying here means meeting lots of other students from all over the world. You will have your own en-suite bedroom as well as access to the communal kitchen and lounge area where you can cook and spend time with the other students staying there.

Lumis Ladies-Only Residence 

The Ladies-Only apartments offer students the opportunity to live with their female friends in a self-contained cluster flat whilst still enjoying the common room facilities available to all students. Each apartment has a shared kitchen between 3 rooms and each room is fully furnished with:

  • Double bed (4 ft wide) with under bed storage

  • Wardrobe, shelving

  • Storage drawers

  • Desk with desk chair

  • Wired broadband in all bedrooms and wireless Internet throughout the whole building

  • En-suite shower, toilet and sink

  • Blackout blinds

  • Bed linen and a towel (provided by Celtic English Academy).

Just a 16 minute walk from Celtic, the Lumis Residence is located on Capital Quarter on Tyndall Street, very close to the main high street and shopping district in the heart of Cardiff city centre.

Ladies-Only Flat:

The Ladies-Only apartments have a shared kitchen between 3 rooms. All rooms have a your own en-suite bathroom. Your room comes fully furnished do you don't need to bring any furniture with you. You will get a bed, a huge desk and of course, your very own chair to go along with it. There is also a lot of storage space you can use for clothes, bags, shoes etc.

Each apartment’s kitchen and lounge area is fully furnished with:

  • Sofas

  • Coffee table

  • TV table

Integrated kitchen with:

  • Dishwasher

  • Electric cooker

  • Microwave

  • Fridge / freezer (with at least one shelf in each, for each student)

  • Sink

  • Plenty of storage

  • Breakfast bar & stools

Laundry:

There is an on-site laundry facility in the residence accommodation. There is a small charge of £2.90 for washing and £1.50 for drying to use this facility.  

Note: Unfortunately, we cannot provide students with an iron or ironing board.

Bathroom:

You will have your own en-suite bathroom. In your en-suite bathroom, you will have a shower, toilet and wash basin with a mirror.

Towels are provided by Celtic English Academy, but you will need to provide your own toiletries such as soap, toothpaste, shampoo and toilet paper.

Internet:

Free wired broadband in all bedrooms and wireless Internet throughout the whole building.

Note: At Celtic English Academy you can also enjoy free Internet and wireless connectivity Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 18:00.

It’s very important for you to inform us of your arrival time in advance if you haven’t arranged an airport transfer with us.

There are several cafés, restaurants, bars and pubs near our Lumis Student Living as well as in Cardiff city centre.

Deposit:

Students who live in residence accommodation are asked to pay a deposit of £100 to cover possible loss or damage to the contents and/or property. You will be given a receipt for your deposit. This deposit will be refunded at the end of your course, subject to a satisfactory property inspection and the return of your keys and bedding in good order, as supplied.

  • Residence accommodation is from 14:00 on Sunday to 10:00 on Sunday.

  • A refundable deposit of £100 is payable at the time of booking or on arrival. This will be refunded upon check out.

  • The minimum age for residence accommodation is 18 years old.

  • Residence accommodation is subject to availability.
