We are committed to
In our modern day world we all have a responsibility for the way we act and live. As a business we are focused on good citizenship and committed to our community, our environment and our ethics.
Positive impact on the communities
We have always believed that Celtic English Academy should have a positive impact on the communities and people we serve. Over the past 10 years we have grown from 1 to 3 buildings and from receiving students from a few countries to over 40 countries.
We are proud of the part we play in our local and international community. At Celtic, we are committed to giving back to the communities in which we live and work. Responsible behaviour is our signature – it’s a part of everything we do. Community is most definitely at the heart of Celtic English Academy.
Throughout the year, we encourage all our staff and students to engage in organised activities from baking cakes to growing moustaches, all to raise funds and awareness for a range of charitable causes. Times like this bring the whole Celtic team of staff and students together, plus we really do have a lot of fun!
Example of our causes :
Red Nose Day
Tsunami Fundraising Sports Day
Great Celtic Bakeoff Day
Staff Raffle Prizes
Easter Chocolate Campaign
Street Child World Cup Football
Celtic Colleague in Costa Rica
As well as supporting our local community, we believe in investing internationally and giving something back to our global community. We are very proud of the investments we make in both our local and international communities and we look forward to continuing this work in years to come.
Here are some of the things Celtic does on an international level:
Celtic sponsors 3 Sri Lankan students through university
In collaboration with TIECA, Celtic offers a scholarship to one Thai student every year
Celtic supports teachers to work on a school project in Rwanda.
At Celtic English Academy we care about our environment. Our students, agents and partners come from all corners of the globe and we recognise that whilst we may have a resounding reputation and growing presence internationally, our English academy in Cardiff does not stand alone on the world map.
We have a duty of care to our students; we care about their well-being and their futures as English speakers, but we also care about our environment, the future of our academy and our world so that generations to come will be able to have the same opportunities that we can offer to our students today.
We are committed to the environment and this is what we regularly do to be ecological and sustainable:
We recycle all paper and cardboard
We recycle our plastic and paper cups
We reuse textbooks, DVDs and resources
We reuse furniture, fixtures and fittings to minimise waste
We use cotton towel reels in our bathrooms instead of disposal paper towels
We turn off the lights when a room is unoccupied
We turn off wall sockets and don’t leave technological equipment on standby
We use double-sided printing wherever possible
We recycle our printer and toner cartridges
We encourage our students to walk or take public transport
We buy office supplies and classroom stationery in bulk online to reduce multiple car journeys
We inspire our staff and students to voice their own sustainability initiatives
